Sizing and shape
Plan on a third to a half of the guest list dancing at once, and allow a few square feet per dancer. That is a rule of thumb rather than a specification. So tell us your headcount and we will size it with you. Then decide the shape separately. A square floor keeps everyone together, whereas a long floor splits into two ends once it fills up.

A panel floor wants a flat, level base, because it shows every dip underneath. Paved surfaces are usually fine as they are.
