A bare top is the point
Farm tables go out undraped. The wood is the finish, so a cloth over it defeats the reason to order one. That takes a line off the linen order. It also changes what the table needs instead. A runner, a few candles or a low arrangement all work, because the top is doing the decorating.
The size suits jobs where a table has to look considered and hold very little. A sweetheart table, a cake table, a gift or escort card table, a bar back, or a small display near an entrance. How to treat the top on site
A finished wood top needs more care than a folding table. Three rules come with it. Do not use the table as a prep surface. Do not drag items across the top, because a dragged box or metal tray leaves a mark. Keep sticky substances off it as well.
Pass that on to whoever is working the table. The people who set it up are often not the people who booked it. A caterer who assumes any table is a prep table will treat it like one. So say it once at the start of the day. Then the table goes back clean.
Stock, and planning around it
We hold very few tables at this size. So ask us to check it against your date before it goes on a floor plan. That matters more than usual here. A sweetheart table or a cake table has no substitute on the day.
Chairs are worth deciding at the same time. A farm table with chiavari chairs needs no linen at all. So it costs less than a draped round and reads as more deliberate.
