  • What Does Renting a Heated Tent Involve? A December Party at a Private Home

A December holiday party at a private home needed connected tents over a brick patio and yard. We supplied enclosed tents, flooring and 6 tent heaters, along with the tables, chairs, bars and lighting. That job shows what a heated tent rental involves: a tent, walls to hold the heat in, and heaters sized for the space.

It was a large party, with round dining tables and 15 cocktail tables across the setup. Here are the questions that help us put those pieces together for an event.

I need a heated tent for my party. What does that involve?

It involves the tent, sidewalls and heating equipment chosen for that enclosed space. Your guest count helps us start, but the tent dimensions and expected cold also matter.

For this December party, we joined frame tents and high peak tents into a connected space. Marquee frame tents served as connectors, with rain gutters between the tents.

The setup included 2 frame tents measuring 30′ x 30′, with other tents extending across the patio and yard. Inside, we supplied 122 chiavari chairs, including 78 clear and 44 gold, plus the cocktail tables.

Guest counts vary. When you ask about tent rentals, tell us what the tent needs to accommodate. Dining tables, bars and a stage all belong in that conversation.

Do I need sidewalls, and how many?

Yes, sidewalls hold warm air inside a heated tent. How many you need depends on the tent layout and which sides will be closed.

With the sides open, warm air escapes. That makes the enclosure part of the heating plan from the beginning.

At the December party, we used clear sidewalls and solid white sidewalls to close in the connected tents. The clear walls let daylight into the dining area, where round tables had white linens and clear chiavari chairs.

Tell us whether you want an enclosed room or an area with open sides. That distinction helps us choose both the walls and the type of heat.

Can you put a heated tent over my patio?

Yes, a tent can go over an existing patio. Where the patio is too small, flooring can extend the usable area.

This job covered a brick patio and part of the yard. The tents were anchored with concrete blocks because they stood on brick.

We supplied flooring with carpet, along with an 8′ x 12′ stage. The connected layout brought the patio and yard into the party space.

The room also included bistro lighting overhead, a fireplace bar and 2 white bars. Those pieces were part of the layout alongside the dining and cocktail tables.

For a patio setup, tell us where the tent will stand and whether it needs to extend into the yard.

Is it safe to heat a tent? Where do the fumes go?

T3 uses heaters built for tented spaces, with the units standing outside and ducts carrying warm air inside. Exhaust handling depends on the equipment, so it belongs in the heater selection.

For this party, we used 6 85,000 BTU tent heaters. Each stood outside, with a flexible duct running under the tent wall.

The tent safety package included fire extinguishers secured to tent legs, lighted exit signs and no smoking signs.

For the indirect-fired diesel heater discussed below, the burner and exhaust stay outside. Only heated air enters through ducts, keeping fumes outside the tent.

Heating equipment and the tent safety setup are both part of planning the enclosed space.

What’s the difference between tent heaters and patio heaters?

Tent heaters warm the air inside an enclosed tent. Patio heaters and radiant heaters warm people standing near them.

The December party used ducted tent heaters because the tents were closed in with sidewalls. The equipment stayed outside the room, while the ducts carried heat inside.

A patio heater or propane radiant heater suits an open-air space or a tent with its sides open. Those options provide warmth near the heater.

The choice starts with the area you want to heat. Tell us whether people will be inside closed walls or gathered in an open area. Then we can match the heater type to that setup.

    Propane, diesel or electric?

The choice depends on the space and the job. T3 rents propane radiant heaters, diesel heaters, electric heating equipment and ducted tent heaters.

The December setup used the 85,000 BTU tent heaters. We also offer a 175,000 BTU tent heater that works the same way: outside the tent, with a duct running under the wall.

For large tents and temporary structures, the 420,000 BTU diesel heater is an indirect-fired option. It runs on diesel or kerosene and holds about 9 hours of fuel. It needs 115V power on a 20 amp circuit, and a thermostat is available.

T3 also offers a 480V electric heater and HVAC rentals for larger or longer jobs. Share the tent dimensions, enclosure plan and date so we can size the heat.

Can we rent heaters on their own for an outdoor area?

Yes, you can rent heaters for an outdoor area on their own. Patio and radiant heaters suit open-air spaces where people gather near the heat.

You do not need the enclosed layout used at this December party for that kind of setup. The important detail is whether you want nearby warmth outdoors or heated air inside a closed tent.

When asking about winter event rentals, describe the area you want to use. Include whether it is uncovered, under a tent with open sides, or enclosed.

That gives us a starting point for choosing equipment suited to the space.

Can a tent keep a catering team or a work crew warm?

Yes, an enclosed tent with appropriately sized heat can provide a warm work area. The same planning applies to catering teams and film crews: tent size, closed sides and expected cold.

The December photos show a party room with tables set and sidewalls closed around it. For a work area, tell us what needs to fit inside so the tent plan reflects its use.

A heated tent rental starts with those details. T3 puts together a quote for the setup your event needs.

Tell us about your event, including the tent size or guest count, the date and where it is going.
